The Indianapolis Commercial Real Estate Summit provided plenty of opportunities for networking.

The biggest names in the Indianapolis-area commercial real estate market gathered May 15 for Midwest Real Estate News’ Indianapolis Commercial Real Estate Summit and Indiana Real Estate Awards to share the good news about their local commercial real estate market.

And the news was positive during the event held at the Columbia Club in Indianapolis. Speakers participating in the event’s panels focused on the resilience of the local market, citing Indianapolis’ ideal location in the center of the country, its strong workforce, its pro-business government and its healthy CRE stock as reasons for the strength of the local CRE market.

A highlight of the event, of course, was the awards ceremony that honored the top CRE performers in the local CRE market. These professionals thrive whether the local CRE market is booming or sluggish. The night’s award winners provide an example of the creativity and hard work that top CRE pros bring to the profession.

Speaking on the Multifamily Apartment Market Update & Forecast: Opportunities & Challenges panel were Anthony Cossell, Vice President of Originations, Merchants Capital; Michael Garvey, Chief Financial Officer, SC Bodner Company; Steve LaMotte Jr., Managing Director of Investment Sales, Walker & Dunlop; and Cam Benz, First Vice President, CBRE. Not pictured is the panel’s moderator, David Adams, partner, Krieg DeVault.

Participants on the Indianapolis Market Sector Update – Industrial, Office, Retail, Finance, Construction, Investment panel were Billy Powers, Associate Vice President, Indianapolis, with Colliers; Ben Cohen, Vice President of Brokerage, Cornerstone Companies, Inc.; Keith Stark, CEO and Founder, ConsortiumCRE; Jared Laub, Partner and COO, Compass Commercial Construction Group; Samuel Swafford, Partner, Taft; and Jonathan M. Hardy, Senior Managing Director, Principal, Bradley Company.

The conference portion of the event ended with the Transforming Downtown and Suburban Markets Development–Game Changer Projects panel, which featured Brenda Freije, President and CEO, Rethink Coalition; Scott Willis, Mayor, City of Westfield, Indiana; Matt Mindrum, President and CEO, Indy Chamber; and Emily Krueger, President and CEO, 16 Tech Community Corporation.
