Bar-S, a Sigma brand, signed a 47,539-square-foot lease at Prologis’ 130,000-square-foot warehouse/distribution facility located at 2141 Internationale Parkway in Woodridge. The new location will serve as the company’s Midwest distribution center. The lease begins October 1, 2022.
Bar-S takes a little over 31% of the property that features six exterior docks, two drive-in doors and 30-foot clear ceiling height. Upon move-in later this year, the company will install a 15,000-square-foot cooler and convert five of the docks to create a cold chain dock. Bar-S is self-funding the above standard tenant improvements that will transform the space from a dry to food-grade temperature controlled building.
“Food based tenants tend to be viewed very favorably by owners/landlords,” said Cook. “Despite their unique needs, these are users whose business is always active – in good economic times and bad.”
Bar-S is currently operating out of a sublease at a LaGROU warehouse location at 35th and Pulaski in Chicago.
Cresa’s Jay Cook represented the international food conglomerate in the transaction.
Bar-S is known for quality meat products including bacon, hot dogs, sausages, lunchmeat and more. It is the only national value brand in the U.S.
