Barnes & Thornburg LLP has added to its Real Estate Department with the hiring of Joseph Calderon as a partner in the firm’s Indianapolis office.
Calderon, who previously worked at Bose McKinney & Evans LLP, has spent more than 25 years representing real estate developers, tenants and end-users of real estate, business owners, individuals, nonprofits and governmental agencies in a wide range of real estate matters. He advises on and manages zoning, development, leasing and property tax issues, having handled hundreds of zoning cases, property tax assessment appeals and real estate transactions.
During his legal career, Calderon has received many accolades. Since 2010, Calderon has been recognized on The Best Lawyers in America list, where he was named a Land Use and Zoning Lawyer of the Year in 2013. He is also rated “AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rated,” the top rating for professional skill and ethics, by his peers as listed in Martindale-Hubbell®.
After earning his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 1982, Calderon earned his law degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1989.
He is admitted to practice in the state of Indiana and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
