Paine/Wetzel TCN Worldwide announced that Ed Barnett, Executive Vice President of the firm, represented the seller of the Antiquarians Building complex at 159 W. Kinzie Street in the River North neighborhood of Chicago. A 2-story, 3-story and 5-story building total a 23,500 square foot retail/showroom complex that was sold for $5,100,000.
The seller is an affiliate of Asian House, which occupied the buildings for 30 years. The purchaser is a Chicago investor who is finalizing plans for the real estate.
“River North remains a most desirable segment of downtown Chicago due to its access to public transportation and the mix of tech, office, showroom, residential, hotel, restaurant and nightlife uses and activities. The area’s development and adaptive reuse show no signs of abating” said Barnett, who has sold and leased various properties in River North. The three building parcel is located just east of the Merchandise Mart near LaSalle St. and sits on 6,600 square feet of land that fronts Carroll Avenue. The River North neighborhood has an abundance of nightlife, restaurants, shopping and offices.
