Barry Millman to head Horizon Realty Services

Barry Millman of Horizon Realty Services, Inc. recently acquired full ownership of the company from his previous partner. Additionally, Ilija Pod, who has been the senior property manager for Horizon Realty’s management division for several years, has been appointed vice president.

Millman and Pod will focus on expanding their wide-ranging management portfolio by emphasizing potential client needs by third-party property owners both locally and nationally.

“We have seen a shift in management requirements and as managements professionals we want to make sure we are ahead of the curve. The concept of outsourcing property management for owners or asset managers to a third-party company is increasingly more economical than maintaining an in-house staff,” Millman and Pod said in a statement. “Our goal is to make sure that we can provide the same service as if we (Horizon) were owners of the building themselves. Increasing NOI is the obvious net goal, but doing so while maintaining and increasing, where possible, the tenant base is the guiding principal in increasing property value.”

Horizon will also expand its brokerage division in the form of landlord and tenant representation. Gary Litvin, the managing director of tenant rep, along with George Manos, director of leasing, will help lead the veteran team. Their hands-on approach to leasing, combined with fusion from the management division, has already sparked activity. Expanded use of new marketing technology will be the cornerstone of the company’s investment in serving its clients.

To continue with this new direction, Horizon has relocated their offices to Palatine, Illinois in a bid to be more accessible to their client base and reach all points of the metropolitan area more efficiently.
