Jonathan Kohn, senior vice president with Colliers International | Chicago’s Industrial Advisory Group, represented Basic Enterprises Inc. in a 101,543-square-foot new long-term lease at 2567 N. Greenleaf Ave. in Elk Grove Village.
The building, originally constructed in 1977, underwent a complete interior and exterior redevelopment in spring 2013, which was one of the most high-profile redevelopments in the O’Hare market in recent years. The renovation included a new façade, new offices and the addition of 13 exterior dock doors. The property is located at the corner of Elmhurst Road and Greenleaf Avenue and is owned by DCT Industrial.
Basic Enterprise Inc. is a growing full-service air, ocean and logistics freight company. The company occupied approximately 70,000 square feet in two facilities and sought a consolidation of those facilities within the same area.
“Basic Enterprise needed the efficiency of one larger location,” Kohn said. “Staying in the Elk Grove area and elevating the image of the company were the primary goals, and DCT’s redevelopment of the Greenleaf property was the perfect solution.”
Basic Enterprise is expected to occupy the Greenleaf facility in November 2013.
Chris Nelson of Lee & Associates represented DCT Industrial.
