Becovic Residential, a Chicago-based multifamily owner and operator, has added a 55-unit multifamily building to its Northside portfolio. The Windale, located at 6019 N. Winthrop Ave. in Chicago, sold for $6.8 million. Becovic was represented by Joe Smazal from Interra Realty and the sale was financed by JP Morgan Chase Bank with Scott Kalkofen. Becovic Management Group will be managing the property.
Built in 1927 as The Windale Hotel, its 52 studios and three one-bedroom units have been renovated with meticulous attention to detail, creating exquisitely finished apartments. Units feature in-unit laundry, quartz kitchen countertops, subway tile backsplashes, rain showers, custom cabinetry and exposed brick accent walls. Building amenities include a beautiful lobby, a collection of curated photography, a pet run, intercom, bike room and a fully-equipped fitness room.
The Windale is only a few minutes from Lake Shore Drive and the Thorndale CTA Red Line train station is two blocks away, along with a number of CTA bus routes. Close to Loyola University, parks and beaches, and all the shops and restaurants along Broadway Avenue, The Windale offers residents urban amenities and easy access to the neighborhood’s natural beauty.
