Chicago-based Bender Companies recently acquired 1,397 apartments across three suburban Chicago properties.
The closings wrapped up an active 2021 for Bender, giving the owner-operator considerable scale in three submarkets of suburban Chicago.
The acquisitions were:
New Colonies Apartments in Steger, Illinois, a 672-unit apartment community that was rebranded as Linden Park Apartments. The property features studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units, a resident clubous, fitness center, outdoor pool, playground and dog run.
Renaissance at Carol Stream, a 293-unit community in Carol Stream, Illinois. The community includes a resident clubhouse, indoor basketball court and outdoor pool with sundeck.
Meadowdale Apartments Phase I and II, a 432-unit acquisition in Carpentersville, Illinois. This property was rebranded as Eden Prairie Apartments after being acquired from the original developer.
Bender has capital-improvement plans for the assets. All three properties will include a mix of unit renovations and community upgrades.
