Berkadia adds new managing director to its Kansas City office

Berkadia announced the hiring of John Schorgl as managing director in its Kansas City office. He will report to Berkadia’s Executive Vice President and Head of Mortgage Banking, Warren Higgins.

An expert in placing loans with life insurance companies, conduit lenders, banks, and each of the agency lenders including FHA/HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Schorgl brings more than 20 years of real estate experience to Berkadia. He specializes in the placement of debt and equity for commercial and multifamily real estate projects nationwide.

Prior to joining Berkadia, Schorgl was co-founder and partner of JC Cap, having previously served as a senior director at Marcus & Millichap and principal in Johnson Capital’s Kansas City office.

His career includes having served on numerous industry panels and having been published in Kansas City Business Journal’s CCIM supplement and Midwest Real Estate News. Schorgl, who earned his CCIM designation in 2010, received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and a Master’s in Business Administration degree from Rockhurst University.
