Berkadia Commercial Mortgage LLC has hired Preston Sargent as a managing director for equity initiatives and separate accounts.
Sargent brings more than 29 years of industry experience to Berkadia, where he will work closely with Anne Corbin, managing director of capital markets, and targeted producers in the Berkadia and Hendricks-Berkadia network to develop Berkadia Capital Advisors, a new investment management business.
“Berkadia is fortunate to have someone with Preston’s experience and reputation join the company,” said Corbin. “I’ve known him and followed his real estate career for nearly 30 years, and it is an honor to have him on board.”
Most recently, Sargent served as executive vice president and principal for 11 years at Kennedy Associates (now Bentall Kennedy) in Seattle. While there, he was the portfolio manager for the firm’s $8 billion Open-End Diversified Core Equity Fund and head of asset management.
