Black tie retailer The Groomsman Suit opens Chicago showroom

The Groomsman Suit (TGS) has officially opened the doors of its first showroom to Chicago’s engaged couples and wedding community. The young retail company is located at 1820 W. Webster Avenue, Suite 410 in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood.

“We love our e-commerce business and have been able to make genuine connections with our customers via phone, chat and e-mail. But, as our presence in Chicago became more well-known we started to get more and more requests for in person appointments, as well as couples just stopping by,” said Diana Ganz, who co-founded the company with Jeanne Foley. “We’ve realized that if guys have the opportunity to come in and try a suit on in person they like to and will even bring in their fiancés, parents, siblings and friends.”

The idea to open a showroom really became a possibility in February 2018 when the company offloaded shipping and distribution to a fulfillment partner. With thousands of suits out of the way, the TGS team found themselves with an empty, 2,200-square-foot space and began planning ideas to transform their loft style top floor office.

“Our Bucktown location is so convenient for customers and we loved the space so much that we decided to stay put and renovate,” said Foley. “Our customers find our online store first, so a traditional street level storefront didn’t really make sense for us. Instead, we created something truly unique that our customers are excited to walk into.”
