Block Real Estate Services and Cornerstone Associates on June 6 held the ground-breaking ceremony for the mixed-use development 531 Grand Boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri.
The development will include 140 multifamily units and more than 10,000 square feet of retail space. Kansas City’s Mayor, Sly James, along with officials from Block Real Estate and Cornerstone Associaes, spoke during the ceremony.
“You’ve got a great addition to the River Market and the downtown Kansas City core,” said Ken Block, managing principal of Block Real Estate Services, during the ground-breaking.
This is a good time for a new multifamily project in downtown Kansas City. According to information provided by Block Real Estate Services, during the last 10 years the number of people living in the city’s downtown has increased by 50 percent.
“This project is mixed-use, firsdt-class and fits into the fabric of the historic River Market,” Mayor James said during the event. “This project is the result of a vision for downtown Kansas City.”
Block Real Estate and Cornerstone Associates say that 531 Grand Boulevard will officially open sometime in December of 2017.
