BMO Capital Markets hosted its ninth annual North American Real Estate Conference Sept. 15-16, this time holding the event at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Chicago.
More than 400 real estate companies, institutional investors and other industry professionals attended the event.
Famed investor Sam Zell was the keynote speaker on Sept. 15, while Ed Sonshine, chief executive officer of RioCan REIT, was the keynote speaker on the following day.
The mood of conference participants? They were optimistic. Deal activity is on the rise acreoss the North American real estate sector. Panelists from the largest real estate companies confirmed this during the conference.
