The 10th annual BMO Capital Markets North American Real Estate Conference drew big crowds to the Trump International Hotel & Tower in downtown Chicago on Sept. 28 and 29.
A panel of top real estate leaders provided their thoughts on everything from the outlook for REITS to the future of the North American housing market. Real estate companies, institutional investors and other industry professionals attended the event.
The first day of the event included a keynote address from real estate mogul Richard Baker, who focused on a variety of issues facing retailers today. This included the difficulties retailers face when operating in the United States and Canadian marketplaces.
Steven Levitt of Freakonomics fame also drew big crowds when he spoke about the importance of finding creative ideas and new ways of thinking.
