Earlier this month, the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Suburban Chicago held their annual Holiday & Awards Lunch at The Carlisle Banquets in Lombard.

The event included award announcements, recognition, entertainment, and networking. Event highlights were the announcements of Member, Associate, Engineer and Developing Leader of the Year Awards.

Member of the Year

Suzanne Boryscka, general manager, Lincoln Property Company.

Boryscka is an integral part of the Awards Committee that administers the TOBY Awards program and also chairperson of the Charity Bowling Task Force, which plans an event to benefit BOMA’s yearly charity. She is also active on other task forcesthat plan membership events and regularly participates in BOMA/Suburban Chicago member events.

Max Andrews, territory account manager, Matting by Design.

Andrews is a true supporter of BOMA/Suburban Chicago and sees the value of member involvement. He is the chairman of the Awards Committee and has worked hard to encourage members to participate in the TOBY Awards process. He also strives to positively engage all committee members to share and implement ideas in their work for BOMA.

Engineer of the Year

Tony Soltys, chief engineer, JLL, at The Corporate Center of Northbrook.

Soltys has shown his ability to go the “extra mile” as Chief Engineer at his building and to assist others. He was also recognized for his efforts at seeking out energy reductions at the building. He was instrumental in helping The Corporate Center of Northbrook prepare for their recent TOBY entry and subsequent win.

Developing Leader of the Year

Kristin Bush, real estate manager, CBRE.

Bush was recognized for her work with the Developing Leaders Steering Committee and events throughout 2015. It was noted that she is always encouraging team members and peers to take advantage of events and opportunities through their BOMA/Suburban Chicago membership.
