Bradley Company, RESOURCE combine to form largest independent CRE firm in Indiana

Bradley Company and RESOURCE Commercial Real Estate will combine their teams, creating the largest independent locally owned full-service commercial real estate firm in Indiana.

Founded in 1978, Bradley Company has nine offices across Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. RESOURCE Commercial Real Estate has utilized an advisory approach in serving its clients from an Indianapolis office since being co-founded in 2005 by Sam Smith and Tom Osborne.

“Our companies share a fierce entrepreneurial spirit, a commitment to excellent client service, and a culture of teamwork that ultimately benefits our clients and the communities where we live and work,” said Brad Toothaker, president and chief executive officer of Bradley Company. “We both view our independent ownership as a key strength, because we can move quickly and creatively to serve our clients, while adapting in a way that meets their specific needs.”

Bringing the two companies together is expected to grow market share and client services for both firms. Bradley Company and RESOURCE each offer customized services that span the commercial real estate spectrum. Their key strengths in brokerage and property management will complement the other across a powerful regional platform, ultimately providing lasting value for clients.

Principal Sam Smith, presently the Chairman of RESOURCE, will lead the Indianapolis regional office with support from Jon Hardy, principal of Bradley Company. Hardy currently leads Bradley’s platform service for its commercial brokerage line of business. Smith and Hardy bring a combined 60 years of experience in the central Indiana commercial real estate market to their respective roles.

RESOURCE Principals Beth Patterson, Brian Wahl, Kevin Dick, Jeffrey Merritt and Tom Osborne will become Principals of Bradley Company and continue to play key roles within the newly combined Central Indiana team. More than 40 RESOURCE real estate professionals will join Bradley Company.

“Joining Bradley Company creates a number of synergies that will benefit our clients while accelerating our collective growth in this ever-changing real estate environment,” said Sam Smith, co-founder of RESOURCE Commercial Real Estate. “Bradley Company offered RESOURCE and our clients instant access to best of class property management services and technology. At the same time, our strong brand presence in this market will be enhanced by these strengthened services. We are looking forward to being one team and getting to work.”

The acquisition is part of Bradley Company’s broad expansion plan, boosting its brokerage team by 30 commercial brokers in the Indianapolis market. In 2018, Bradley Company acquired the former X Ventures in Grand Rapids and in 2019 expanded into the Cincinnati market.
