Chesterfield, Mo.-based Brinkmann Constructors is moving steadily through Phase I of the $50 million expansion of the Friendship Village Sunset Hills senior living community in Sunset Hills, Mo.
The general contractor is building 10 independent living villas on the community’s 52-acre campus. Friendship Village and Brinkmann broke ground on Sept. 14. The villas are scheduled for completion in March of 2013.
The two-bedroom units range in size from 1,200 to 1,450 square feet. They feature exterior masonry and siding, gas fireplaces, energy efficient appliances and equipment, optional walk-out basements, optional three- or four-season rooms, urgent response systems, fire protection systems and secluded views of the heavily wooded site and pond.
The initial phase of the project includes necessary site infrastructure work to incorporate the relocation of Pointe Drive to accommodate the master plan for the project and associated utility relocations. Site storm water detention and water quality features are also being installed in this phase to accommodate the master plan.
Friendship Village said later expansion phases at the Sunset Hills community will include a 42,200-square-foot clubhouse, a central park area with walking paths and underground parking for each new residence.
Nestled in the heart of rolling hills, Friendship Village Sunset Hills’ 52-acre campus boasts much natural beauty as well as convenient access to shopping, places of worship, cultural activities and other attractions.
Joining Brinkmann Constructors on the assignment are St. Louis-based Spellman Brady & Company as interior designer and Atlanta-based THW Design as architect.
