Brown Commercial Group negotiated five industrial transactions totaling 49,050 square feet in Chicago’s suburbs market. Broker Maria McNeil negotiated all five transactions, including representing Robart Manufacturing in buying an 18,500-square-foot building at 155-179 Oswalt Ave. in Batavia. The company was leasing space in St. Charles, IL and looked for a Batavia location to be near to its employee base.
McNeil also represented a growing local business in leasing 13,100 square feet of industrial space at 1012 Airpark Rd. in Sugar Grove, IL for overflow storage. Steve Morken of Morken & Associates represented the landlord.
“There is a limited supply of available industrial space in many of Chicago’s submarkets, making it a challenge for businesses that are trying to expand or relocate their operations,” said McNeil. “With the increasing demand for light manufacturing, warehousing and e-commerce related space, we expect this trend to continue for the foreseeable future.”
McNeil also represented:
· The landlord in leasing 8,800 square feet of overflow storage at 801 N. State St., Unit D, in Elgin, IL. Brown Commercial Group Broker Collin Tyrrell represented the tenant.
· The tenant, National Waste Partners, and the landlord in a 5,000-square-foot lease expansion at 640 Heartland Dr. in Sugar Grove, IL. The tenant is growing and took over space formerly occupied by the landlord.
· Edge One, a technology company focused on the financial industry, in buying a 3,650-sf industrial building at 245 Roosevelt Rd. in West Chicago. The company is based in Wisconsin and will use the space as a secondary location.
