Bucksbaum Retail Properties LLC and Structured Development LLC update progress on construction and announce the addition of two new retailers to the project: Z Gallerie and Adobe Gila’s. New City is a mixed-use project located at the intersection of Clybourn and Halsted Streets. Mariano’s, ArcLight Cinemas and DICK’s Sporting Goods have previously been announced as retailers for New City along with first-to-market entertainment and restaurant concepts such as Earls Kitchen + Bar and Kings Bowl.
While working through one of the harshest winters in decades, construction at New City continues to move ahead. Over the last seven months site improvement work, which includes mass excavation, deep foundations, and utility installations has mostly been completed. Structural steel erection and installation of metal decking have commenced on all buildings and will continue into the fall of 2014. The precast parking garage is also being installed and should also be complete in the fall of 2014. Exterior building work will start this summer and tenant improvement work will commence early in 2015. The grand opening of New City is scheduled for September 2015.
