Burrell Communications, a multi-cultural marketing and advertising firm, has completed a long-term renewal of its lease for 34,508 square feet at 233 N. Michigan Ave., part of the 2.1 million-square-foot Illinois Center office complex.
Monica Moore, Nikki Kern and John Beason of Jones Lang LaSalle completed the transaction on behalf of the building’s owner, CommonWealth REIT. Joseph Lerner and Terry Mostrom of Studley represented Burrell.
The building is managed by Reit Management & Research LLC, Real Estate Services. The lease renewal comes as CWH prepares to open a new outdoor plaza at 233 N. Michigan with complimentary tenant Wi-Fi access and redesigned seating areas. In addition, renovations began earlier this year to modernize the retail concourse that flows between the two buildings.
Designed by Fujikawa, Conterato, Lohan and Associates using plans by Mies van der Rohe, the complex is known for its modern design, its proximity to North Michigan Avenue and the more than 15 dining options within the complex alone. Other amenities include a conference room, fitness center, an attached parking facility and access to a variety of public transportation systems.
