A business group in Kenosha, Wis., is making plans to boost rejuvenation efforts in this Wiscsonsin city’s downtown business district.
The Kenosha Area Business Alliance, in conjunction with city officials and a team of community leaders, has begun developing an updated investment strategy that will serve as a blueprint for the revitalization of Kenosha’s Downtown.
KABA has hired The Lakota Group to serve as the lead consultant on the project. Lakota intends to engage several partner companies in the effort. Collectively these firms have expertise in planning, urban design, landscape architecture, community relations, real estate analysis, transportation engineering and environmental engineering and analysis.
The next step in the planning process will be for the Lakota team to collect and analyze data; prepare maps; meet with city officials, staff, and stakeholders; conduct land-use, market and transportation analyses; and identify issues and opportunities.
During this initial phase, the organization will host an interactive community workshop, on Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kenosha Public Museum.
