The Commercial Alliance of REALTORS received its charter from the National Association of REALTORS in 2006, and is classified as the official commercial overlay board for West Michigan. As part of the National Association of REALTORS, members agree to subscribe to the Code of Ethics and to participate in the professional standards process instituted by the National Association. Members are also part of the state’s MI REALTORS association, by virtue of membership in the local Commercial Alliance of REALTORS. The National Association of REALTORS has accredited CARWM with the highest Five-Star rating for services provided to its members. The Commercial Alliance of REALTORS membership is currently composed of 525 commercial real estate practitioners and 130 affiliate members. Affiliate members are defined as those not licensed to sell real estate, but work in professions interested in the industry. Members are based throughout West Michigan, with a high concentration in the Grand Rapids metropolitan area. Practitioners from Muskegon, Holland, Grand Haven, Kalamazoo, Lansing, and other outlying markets are also represented within the membership.
