The Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (EDC) has played a major role in the growth and development of the community. The primary purpose of the Harlingen EDC is to assist in the creation of new job opportunities and the attraction of new investment to Harlingen. The Harlingen EDC provides assistance to commercial developers planning large-scale projects in Harlingen. We build community capacity through a wide variety of projects including healthcare, education and training, airport improvements, industrial and business park development, and special infrastructure improvements.
