C.A.R. CEO wins recognition for role in advancing women in real estate

Chicago Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.) CEO Ginger Downs will be honored for her strong leadership in real estate on Friday, July 18 with the 2014 Elevate Award from the Women’s Council of REALTORS® – Chicago Chapter.

Downs will receive the group’s award at a program focused on the evolving role of women in real estate, leadership, challenges and future goals. The Elevate Award is awarded annually to an individual or company fostering the growth and advancement of women professionally. A REALTOR® association leader since 1983, Downs has served as C.A.R.’s top administrator since 2005.

“As REALTORS®, we highly regard C.A.R. CEO Ginger Downs for her leadership, vision and tireless work to advance our industry,” said Sam Powell, president of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® – Chicago Chapter and REALTOR® with Dream Town Realty. “Downs is a longtime supporter of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®, and we are pleased to recognize her with this year’s Elevate Award.”

Her designations include the National Association of REALTORS® – REALTORS® Certified Executive (RCE), the American Society of Association Executives – Certified Association Executive (CAE) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – graduate of the Institute of Organizational Management (IOM). Downs also received the NAR Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation.
