CBRE hired Ajay Kalra as managing director and market leader for its Iowa business.
In this role, Kalra will oversee business operations and drive the market’s growth strategy for all Advisory Service lines of business, including leasing, sales, debt and structured finance, valuation and property management. He will lead CBRE’s office in Des Moines.
Kalra has nearly 10 years of experience in business management and leadership across several different industries. Most recently, he served as a Senior Investment Manager at the Iowa-based full-service real estate private equity firm LCS Real Estate, where he assisted with the company’s investment strategies, performed financial analysis, conducted market research and managed several senior living properties across Iowa.
Alongside his commercial real estate experience, Kalra previously served as a Regional Manager at Keurig Dr Pepper, where he managed 30 company branches throughout Iowa and was responsible for over $400 million in sales. Earlier in his career, he was a Pricing Manager at Ruan Transportation Management Systems and was responsible for the management, administration, and execution of financial results regarding pricing activities for new and existing Iowa customers.
