CBRE has arranged a new headquarters office lease on behalf of their client, the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). The team will occupy 10,417 square feet at 820 W. Jackson in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood.
CBRE’s Bill Sheehy and Rachel Galindez represented the Chicago Red Stars in the transaction. The team is a founding member of the NWSL, which was established in 2013.
The new office for the Chicago Red Stars offers enough space to comfortably fit the Red Stars’ front office, with offices for leadership, conference areas to better facilitate collaboration between departments and common areas where staff can congregate to brainstorm new and innovative ways to grow the team, or host club players and partners for events.
The Chicago office market is experiencing a tremendous flight to quality buildings. According to a recent CBRE report, 60 office leases of more than 20,000 square feet have been signed since Q1 2020 by tenants relocating in the Chicago market; of those leases, 79% upgraded their space by building class and 72% moved to a building that was either recently built or underwent a major renovation.
