Chaska, Minn., will soon be home to a new data center thanks to a transaction that CBRE brokers helped negotiate.
That’s because ViaWest Inc. earlier this month purchased the former headquarters building of Entegris Inc., a space that the company will transform into a data center.
CBRE’s Tom Bennett, Tom Hayhoe and Jack Tornquist represented Entegris in this transaction.
ViaWest, which is based in Greenwood Village, Colo., purchased 29 acres at 3500 Lyman Blvd. This includes the 158,000-square-foot former Entegris building that was built in 1995. Entegris, which makes products for the semiconductor business, still has a presence in Chaska. The company still operates in two buildings in the city. Entegris, though, moved its headquarters from Chaska to Billerica, Mass., in 2009.
According to information provided by ViaWest, the new data center is scheduled to open sometime during the first quarter of 2014.
