CBRE recently represented GDSX, L.L.C. in the sale of Xcel Energy Corporate Headquarters, a 212,000-square-foot office building at 401 Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis, to Sentinel Acquisitions Corporation.

The Xcel Energy Corporate Headquarters building is a trophy-quality Class-AA office property in the Minneapolis CBD on Nicollet Mall. Developed for Fortune 500-ranked Xcel Energy by The Opus Group in 2016, the nine-story LEED Gold building features open office designs, LED lighting, a Haworth system of movable walls, break rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, executive parking garage and bike storage, as well as collaborative spaces and conference rooms.
Xcel Energy has a rich history in the Twin Cities, as they have been headquartered here since they were founded in 1909. The company completed its first 146,000-square-foot headquarters at 414 Nicollet in 1965. In 2016, Xcel Energy expanded its headquarters to include the newly constructed, skyway-connected 401 Nicollet building.
