CBRE names vice chairman in valuation and advisory services department in Chicago

Chicago-based CBRE elevated Randal Dawson to Vice Chairman within CBRE Valuation & Advisory Services.

Dawson continues to serve as National Leader of the firm’s Litigation Support & Dispute Practice Group, a role he has held for more than a year. The Vice Chairman title is among the most senior designations at CBRE, awarded for sustained market leadership and significant contribution to the firm and its clients.

Dawson brings more than 30 years of experience in complex commercial real estate valuation, expert witness testimony, and litigation support. Over the course of his career he has testified in federal and state courts across the country, advising law firms, corporate clients, financial institutions, and government agencies on contested-value matters, regulatory disputes, and high-stakes commercial litigation. In his national leadership role, he directs CBRE’s coordinated delivery of litigation support and dispute advisory services from the firm’s LaSalle Street office.

Dawson holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, the FRICS designation from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the CRE designation from The Counselors of Real Estate, and the NACD Directorship Certification. He is licensed as a certified general real estate appraiser in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Missouri. He currently serves as a Trustee of The Appraisal Foundation, where he chairs the Finance Committee, and as a member of the RICS Americas Board. He was named the 2025 Illinois Real Estate Appraiser of the Year.

A lifetime Chicagoan, Dawson has built his career in the city’s commercial real estate community and continues to lead CBRE’s national litigation practice from its LaSalle Street headquarters.
