CBRE has announced the opening of its new 19,500-square-foot office on the fifth floor at 10 W. Nationwide Blvd., a Class A+ trophy office building within the Arena District owned and developed by Nationwide Realty Investors in downtown Columbus. The firm has relocated from 200 Civic Center Drive.

The new office is part of CBRE’s Workplace360 program, which showcases the company’s “Future of Work” space standards, including innovative technology and a wide variety of collaborative spaces designed to support hybrid working.

Since CBRE launched its Workplace360 program, it has continually evolved it by leveraging insights gained from opening more than 100 Workplace360 offices across the globe. A cornerstone of the Workplace360 model involves office design that improves connection, collaboration, and productivity. CBRE continues to strategically implement a “free address” approach that assigns team neighborhoods, aiming to increase the opportunity to connect with coworkers and expand an individual’s workspace options throughout the day.

“As one of Columbus’s top trophy office buildings, 10 W. Nationwide Blvd. is an ideal home and CBRE is proud to be its first tenant,” said CBRE’s Michael Copella, Executive Managing Director and Market Leader, Central Ohio. “The office design reflects the spirit of Columbus and its distinctive culture while highlighting the scope of CBRE’s capabilities. Together, it promotes a dynamic workplace that supports our people and strengthens connections with our clients.”

The office has several different work areas organized across six team “neighborhoods,” each offering a mix of individual and shared meeting and support spaces, along with focus rooms, huddle rooms, conference rooms and project rooms. There is also a wellness room and a retreat room, each offering private spaces for employees and abundant archways strewn throughout the space. Additional features include a freestanding water vapor fireplace designed to add ambiance, an open-space lobby known as the “Heart,” which features a RISE café and a gallery-style corridor that creates a hospitality experience for visitors and employees.

Additionally, new technology is installed throughout the office to support remote and in-person collaboration between employees. This technology includes a UHD 4K media wall with video conferencing capabilities, Microsoft Teams Rooms and digital whiteboards for real-time collaboration and brainstorming. The office is also being designed with several sustainability and wellbeing features in mind, including high indoor air quality standards, lighting controls, acoustic management, thermal comfort procedures and wide-ranging waste management and recycling practices.

The office’s design reflects the unique character of Columbus, drawing inspiration from bespoke hotels and hospitality-focused experiences. The conference and shared areas include names from the surrounding district and the greater Columbus area. The office also includes biophilic elements and features artwork curated in partnership with a national art consultant and an employee-led committee, highlighting Ohio-based artists.
