CBRE has opened its new 8,000-square-foott office on the second floor of 595 Tower development at 595 S. 60th St. in West Des Moines, Iowa.
The firm has relocated from the Hubbell Realty Company building at 6900 Westown Parkway.
The new office is part of CBRE’s Workplace360 program showcasing the company’s “Future of Work” space standards, including innovative technology and a wider variety of collaborative spaces designed to support hybrid working.
CBRE launched its Workplace360 program in 2013 and has since opened more than 100 Workplace360 offices across the globe. A cornerstone of the Workplace360 model is its “free address” approach where there is no assigned seating. Instead, teams are assigned to various neighborhood work areas where they can use any unoccupied seat. As many companies move to hybrid work models, a free-address approach allows for any workstation or office to be used by any employees who are in the office on a given day.
The office features several work areas, including focus rooms, huddle rooms and an open-space living room known as the CBRE “Heart,” which can be used for town halls, conference meetings and more casual work environments. In addition, new technology has been implemented that will grant employees instant and seamless access to several collaborative workspace chat and video applications. There will also be a large digital media display near the entrance for company announcements and a RISE café for both employees and guests to meet.
The office design, led by CBRE Design Collective, envisioned an office that seamlessly integrated key features of both Workplace360 and Iowa’s distinct culture. As a result, there are several pieces of artwork from local artists, Tom Gross and Candice Luten, displayed throughout the office, including an acrylic Des Moines cityscape item from Gross and a textured rope dimensional piece from Luten.
The conference room names are also based on the three counties where CBRE is most active – Dallas, Jasper and Polk. Additionally, office employees collaborated with the CBRE Design Collective team on the palette selection, combining each group’s top palette selections, resulting in an organic design with industrial accents strewn throughout the office.
