These haven’t been the easiest times for commercial real estate professionals. That doesn’t mean, though, that commercial broker aren’t still getting deals done. It just means that it takes longer, and involves more work, to close sales and leases.
CBRE St. Louis is a good example.
The commercial real estate firm is still closing deals in the St. Louis area despite the tough economy. The firm is doing well enough, in fact, that it recently opened new office space at The Plaza in Clayton, a mixed-use development and walkable neighborhood in, appropriately enough, Clayton, Mo.
The move is an important one for the St. Louis area: The Plaza in Clayton is one of those developments that brings energy into an urban environment. Residents here can walk or bike to just about anywhere they need to go.
The CBRE St. Louis office, then, will fit in well, and will add one more commercial entity to this important development.
CBRE St. Louis held its ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Sept. 20. The city of Clayton’s mayor, Linda Goldstein, attended, as did several aldermen and chamber of commerce officials.
The new office space is targeted for LEED Silver certification.
“The new office allows us to maximize both office and environment efficiencies,” said Jeff Kaiser, managing director of CBRE St. Louis, in a written statement. “We are immensely pleased with the new office, and we’re proud that it reflects our commitment to environmental responsibility.”
The new office is home to 62 of CBRE St. Louis’ 167 employees.
