
Retail veteran Jody House has joined CBRE’s Kansas City, Missouri, office as first vice president. House will focus on landlord representation and project leasing for shopping centers and mixed-use developments in the greater Kansas City metro area.
House has more than 36 years of experience in commercial real estate and an established history of leasing up prominent retail centers locally and across the U.S. She joins CBRE from Butler Enterprises, where she served as vice president of leasing and was responsible for leasing various high-profile retail developments.
Throughout her career, House has leased a wide range of retail asset types, including mixed-use developments, shopping centers, lifestyle centers, regional malls and more. In the Kansas City metro area, she served as senior leasing manager with CBL and Associates Properties, where she executed more than 100,000 square feet of leases across two properties: Oak Park Mall in Overland Park, Kansas, and Cool Springs Galleria in Nashville, Tennessee.
House also served as director of leasing for Country Club Plaza with Highwoods Properties, where she leased and merchandised more than 750,000 square feet of space to high-profile tenants.
In addition, House has overseen and executed leasing and merchandising efforts for various development firms, investors and retailers throughout the Midwest and East Coast, including Steiner + Associates, Equity Properties and Development, Sterling Inc. (now Signet) and Petrie Stores Corporation.
During her 11 years as senior vice president with Steiner + Associates, House leased Easton Town Center in Columbus, Ohio—one of the top 30 highest-performing retail centers in America—and consistently ranked as a top producer at the firm, playing an integral part in executing approximately 2 million square feet of retail leases across a five-state portfolio.
