Chad Galayda joins Avison Young’s Detroit office

Chad Galayda has joined the Avison Young in Detroit as a principal. He will represent clients in the leasing, acquisition, disposition and strategic planning of commercial real estate assets.

Galayda has more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience. He was most recently a senior director at Cushman & Wakefield in Chicago. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield in 2011, he spent five years as a senior vice-president at Grubb & Ellis Company after 10 years as a vice-president in the development and asset strategy group with Jones Lang LaSalle. Before entering the commercial real estate industry, he worked at Ernst & Young in both the audit and tax practice groups.

Over the course of his career, Galayda has been involved in real estate transactions with a combined value in excess of $1 billion, including leasing, acquisition and disposition assignments for many local and multinational companies. Past and current clients include: General Motors, 3M, Tenneco Corporation, BP, Morgan Stanley, Private Bank and US Solar Corporation.
