Pacific Construction, a Chicago-based general contractor, construction management and development services firm, has been acquired by BlockPoint, a project development and general contracting company, also located in Chicago.

As a multidisciplinary service provider, Pacific Construction’s experience is multi-faceted having built projects such as the Fermilab R&D building in Batavia, Illinois, the Adler Planetarium in Chicago and multiple hospital and military bases around the state including the Army Reserve Center in Fort Sheridan. Pacific Construction partners with public and private institutions throughout the country and will continue to operate under the same name.

“Pacific Construction has been building complex projects with noteworthy clients for almost 30 years,” said Bart Friedman, CEO and principal, Pacific Construction and BlockPoint. “Pacific has worked in tandem with the Army Corp of Engineers, U.S. Navy and many other established organizations that demand a high level of knowledge and service.

“We’ve established a proven system driven by talented people that bring tremendous value to any industry sector,” Friedman continued. “Being on the development side of the business, it’s exciting to be a part of a group that has the ability to mitigate risk for developers, tenants, healthcare entitie and government organizations, safeguarding them from conflicts and complications.”
