The Chicago City Council on Dec. 16 confirmed Mayor Brandon Johnson’s appointment of Terrence Johnson as a new member of the Chicago Development Commission. Johnson is executive director of Greenwood Archer Capital, a nonprofit community development financial institution in Chicago.
Johnson brings more than 25 years of community development experience to his new role. He specializes in public finance and banking to the CDC.
Before joining Greenwood Archer Capital, Johnson led the Financial Incentive Underwriting Division for the City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development from 2017 through 2023.
Since joining Greenwood Archer Capital, Johnson has been charged with fulfilling the organization’s mission of making capital that is usually unavailable from conventional sources to developers and entrepreneurs in under-invested neighborhoods looking to grow small businesses.
Before his career in public service, Johnson worked for Harris Bank, Prudential Mortgage Capital and PWC.
