Following a series of upgrades, 26-34 South State St. in Chicago–known as the home to the first dedicated Jordan Brand store–has sold for $44.24 million.
The announcement was made Nov. 16 by company executives with Thor Equities, who closed the sale of the retail property.
“After upgrading 26-34 South State Street and successfully leasing the retail space, we felt the time was right to sell this highly desirable building in the heart of the Chicago Loop,” said Joseph Sitt, CEO of Thor Equities.
In 2014, Thor leased approximately 12,000 square feet of retail space to 32 South State: The Jordan Brand Retail Experience, which opened October 2015. The two-level location features retail space offering sneakers, apparel and other merchandise with the trademarked Michael Jordan “Jumpman” silhouette, as well as a basketball gym and consumer lounge.
A Footaction retail store, also with approximately 12,000 square feet of space on two levels, is located adjacent to the Jordan Brand store in the building.
