M & J Wilkow announced that office building 20 South Clark Street has been awarded LEED Gold status as part of the LEED Dynamic Plaque Recertification process.
In 2011, 20 South Clark Street achieved LEED Silver status and has improved its status to Gold in 2016 for implementing practical and measurable strategies and solutions aimed at achieving high performance in sustainable site development, water savings, and energy efficiency.
LEED identifies and rewards current best practices and provides an outline for buildings to use less energy, water, and natural resources; improve the indoor environment; and uncover operational inefficiencies.
The goal of the rating system is to institutionalize a process of reporting, inspection and review over the life span of the building.
“We’re very proud to have achieved this monumental certification,” said Martha Green, General Manager for 20 South Clark Street. “The resulting product is a more efficient building which benefits our tenants and our environment.”
