The Chicago Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors presented the Richard G. Levy Presidents Award to David Liebman, founder and managing broker of PowerPlay Real Estate Partners of Highland Park, Illinois.
The award was given at SIOR Chicago’s Holiday Luncheon on Dec. 6, which attracted more than 60 SIOR members, platinum sponsors and guests to the Glen View Club in Golf, Illinois. The award was presented by Ryan Moen, SIOR, incoming 2025 president of the SIOR Chicago Chapter and principal and co-founder of Versa Real Estate Services.
One recipient is chosen each year by the SIOR Chicago Chapter Executive Board as a member they feel exemplifies outstanding achievements both in and out of the commercial real estate industry. The award’s namesake, Richard G. Levy, SIOR, was a highly revered leader within the real estate community who typified professionalism, business acumen and strong personal and business ethics that represent the goals of each Chicago Chapter SIOR member.
With more than 35 years of experience as an industrial and office real estate advisor, Liebman is one of the most respected commercial real estate professionals in the industry. He is a past president of the SIOR Chicago Chapter and has served on many committees at the organization’s regional and global level. Liebman has just served as the SIOR Great Lakes Regional Director and is now on the SIOR Nominating Committee at the national level. In his prepared remarks he noted the tremendous respect that he has for Richard Levy, who was not only his neighbor in suburban Deerfield, IL but also one of Liebman’s early mentors. Liebman noted his desire throughout his career to emulate Levy’s selflessness and integrity and mentor other aspiring SIOR professionals.
