Chicagoland Property Management Summit: Addressing the changing needs of tenants, embracing evolving technology

A big crowd flocked to The Carlisle in Lombard for the 19th annual Property Management Summit.

More than 150 top professionals in the local property management business attended the Chicagoland Asset, Property and Facility Management Summit held May 29 at The Carlisle in Lombard, Illinois.

This marked the 19th annual version of this popular conference. And the takeaway? Yes, professionals working in the property management field are facing challenges today. But these same professionals are overcoming these challenges with creative solutions and enhanced services.

Panelists spoke about the importance of not just meeting the property management needs of clients, but of anticipating them. They also focused on how technology is changing the business, the ways in which building owners’ and tenants’ expectations have evolved and what the future holds for this ever-changing industry.

Speaking during the event’s first panel, A View From the Top: Asset & Property Management State of teh Market, were Suzanne Boryscka, Lincoln Property Company; Lloyd Berry, Colliers; Natalie Cico, Newmark; Carrie Szarzynski, Hiffman National; Heather Spearman, JLL; Angela Aeschliman, The Missner Group; and Jennifer Costa, PineTree.

The topic of good management was the focus of the appropriately named second panel, Why Good Management is Important Once Again. Participating in this panel were Susan Lehman, Colliers; Jonathan Swindle, Waveland Property Group; Kirsten Bowersox, Xroads Real Estate Advisors; Max Jacobson, S.R. Jacobson Development Corp.; Gannon O’Brien, Stream Realty Partners; and Tricia Rogde, Zeller.

The event closed with the third panel, Tenant Improvements & Building Upgrades. Participating in this panel were Zinnia Olsson, CONFIRMED Life Safety; Karyn Charvat, PowerForward DuPage;
Tom Marson, Beverly Companies; Veronika Bocanova Diffley, Whitney Architects; and Jaymes Lindbloom, Capital Construction.
