The 3rd Annual Broker Hockey Classic is making a much-anticipated return on Feb. 12 at 6 p.m.

The fundraiser will take place at Johnny’s Ice House West, 2550 W. Madison Street, Chicago, where 32 hockey-playing brokers from Chicago-area firms will show off their skills for a night of friendly competition. Last year the charity event was generously sponsored by 19 industry companies, raising a total of $9,000 for Chicago Blackhawk Charities. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Event co-organizer Brian Edgerton, vice president with NAI Hiffman’s office services group, said that in addition to the charitable focus of the game, the event is a valuable networking opportunity.

“It’s a group that all work for different firms and on opposite sides of the table, but have a common love of the game and really enjoy each other’s company away from work,” he said. “It will make us all more successful when working on transactions with each other in the future.”

Blackhawk Charities is the philanthropic arm of the Chicago Blackhawks that supports a wide range of local non-profit programs for youth and at-risk populations. Elizabeth Queen, manager of charitable partnerships for the Chicago Blackhawks, said the charity is grateful for the support.

“These donations are what helps support the Chicago community to better serve organizations that are in need of help,” Queen said. “We appreciate it and so do all of our partners.”

Event sponsors for this year’s event include: Active Roofing, Allsteel, Avison Young, Bradford Allen, Chicagoland Commercial Real Estate, Conlon Real Estate, Connor Electric, D&K Architects, Desks, Inc., Gunlocke, Hamilton Partners, Henricksen, NAI Hiffman, Ostrander Construction, and Parallel Solutions.

For more information and/or to become an event sponsor, contact Brian Edgerton at [email protected] or (630) 693-0671.
