The 4th Annual Broker Hockey Classic will make its return this year on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.
The fundraiser will be held at Johnny’s Ice House West, 2550 W. Madison St. in Chicago, where more than 30 hockey-playing Chicago-area brokers will come together to compete in a night of friendly competition. Last year the charity event was generously sponsored by nearly 25 industry companies, raising a total of $9,000 for Chicago Blackhawk Charities and the Inner City Education (ICE) Program.
“Since its first year with only 9 sponsors, the event has nearly tripled in sponsor participation and has doubled in spectator engagement. It has been exciting for our industry and our charities see the benefit,” said event co-founder Brian Edgerton. In addition to the charitable focus of the game, the event is a valuable networking opportunity; spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Blackhawk Charities is the philanthropic arm of the Chicago Blackhawks that supports a wide range of local non-profit programs for youth and at-risk populations. Elizabeth Queen, manager of charitable partnerships for the Chicago Blackhawks, said the charity is grateful for the support.
Confirmed sponsors for this year’s event include: Conlon Real Estate, Desks Inc., Hamilton Partners, NAI Hiffman, 300 South Riverside Plaza and 540 West Madison.
