Development Solutions, Inc., a Chicago-based general contractor and design-builder with more than three decades of commercial construction experience, is expanding its focus on restaurant, retail, entertainment and residential interiors.
The focus builds on a body of work DSI has been delivering for years. Most recently, the firm completed the 160,000-SF transformation of DICK’S House of Sport in Schaumburg, Illinois, delivered across 16 phases in 11 months with zero full-store shutdowns. Significant structural and architectural work was care-fully sequenced around customers and daily operations through night work, detailed logistics and ongoing coordination.
DSI’s restaurant work reflects the same ability to deliver high-quality environments around the business priorities of owners and operators. Following completion of The Purple Pig’s Oak Brook location, DSI was awarded the restaurant’s outdoor patio, extending the dining experience beyond the interior. This summer, the firm also modernized an 11,000-SF private event space at River Roast for Levy Restaurant Group, repositioning the venue to compete for weddings, corporate functions and private events.
The expanded focus comes as retail and hospitality environments continue to evolve beyond traditional spaces into more experiential, amenity-rich destinations where design, finish quality and the overall customer experience play an increasingly important role. With more than 30 years of experience delivering some of Chicago and the Midwest’s most complex and high-profile commercial projects, DSI is bringing that exper-tise more intentionally to the hospitality market.
Mitch Green will lead the effort as Business Development Executive. Green brings more than a decade of construction, project management and account leadership experience across hospitality, dining and en-tertainment, with project experience including Topgolf; multiple Puttshack locations, including the brand’s Oakbrook Center venue; F1 Arcade; State of Play Hospitality; Curveball Kitchen; Goodsurf Dallas; and OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark. He joined DSI as a Senior Project Manager, gaining direct knowledge of the firm’s preconstruction, project management and field operations, and currently leads DSI’s floor-by-floor corridor renovation at Harbor Point Condominiums.
