HSA PrimeCare, the medical office division of Chicago-based HSA Commercial Real Estate, has been selected by Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Michigan City to plan and develop a 19,593-square-foot cancer treatment center on the hospital’s outpatient campus in Michigan City, Ind.
The single-story outpatient facility will include a radiation oncology center with a linear accelerator and PET/CT scan, an infusion center and offices for oncologists. HSA PrimeCare broke ground this April and will develop, own and manage the cancer center.
The Franciscan St. Anthony Health Cancer Center will be located on St. Anthony’s Woodland Health Center Campus adjacent to the Woodland Healthcare Surgical Center at the northeast corner of County Road 400 North and South Woodland Avenue. Franciscan St. Anthony Health’s oncology practice will occupy 18,417 square feet of the new facility, and the remaining 1,176 square feet will be available as medical office.
“We’re excited about the future of cancer care here at Franciscan St. Anthony Health and looking forward to continuing as an award-winning center for excellent cancer treatment that’s close to home,” said Dr. Jim Callaghan, president of Franciscan St. Anthony Health. “This new center will enable us to provide the absolute best care right here in our own community.”
“An outpatient cancer treatment facility is a specialized and challenging development project,” said John Wilson, president of HSA PrimeCare. “We are pleased that Franciscan St. Anthony Health chose to work with our firm.”
Design Organization is the architect on the cancer center project, and Michigan City-based Tonn and Black Construction is serving as the general contractor.
