Chicago’s McHugh Construction hired Alec Miller as its general counsel. A seasoned construction attorney with more than 20 years of experience across in-house and private practice roles, Miller will lead the firm’s legal, risk management and compliance functions.
In his new role, Miller will oversee financings and transactions, regulatory compliance, labor negotiations, and litigation and dispute resolution, while partnering with project teams and leadership to proactively manage risk across McHugh’s expanding project portfolio.
Miller most recently served as general counsel at Premier Design+Build Group, where he was the primary legal advisor for the national industrial construction firm. In that role, he led enterprise risk management, negotiated owner and subcontractor agreements, and developed companywide contracting protocols and training programs to help project teams identify and manage risk.
Previously, Miller was a partner at Rock Fusco & Connelly, where he specialized in construction law and advised clients on contract structuring, risk allocation and dispute avoidance.
