Members of Chicago’s Skender Foundation spent December wrapping gifts for Almost Home Kids, an organization that provides a transitional-care program for children who are ready to be discharged from a hospital but for whom preparations at home have to be made.
This ends the second year of the Skender Foundation supporting Chicago-area education and wellness charities.
This December, Skender Foundation members bought toys, books and music for children making the transition from hospital to the home environment. They also delivered them to centers in Chicago and Naperville, Ill.
In 2013, the Skender Foundation has contributed nearly $200,000 to 50 local organizations.
