Chicago-based general contractor W.E. O’Neil Construction appointed Nicholas (Nick) Schubert as General Counsel.
Schubert’s appointment to this newly created role reflects W.E. O’Neil’s continued evolution and its enduring commitment to strengthening the enterprise capabilities needed to support its people and clients for the future.
As General Counsel, Schubert will lead W.E. O’Neil’s enterprise legal and risk function, providing strategic and practical counsel on business and construction matters, including contracts, claims and disputes, insurance, compliance, outside counsel, and enterprise risk. He will also work closely with the company’s safety leadership to further incorporate safety into its integrated approach to enterprise risk management.
In this new role, Schubert will serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer John Finn.
For Schubert, the opportunity to work with W.E. O’Neil’s people and contribute to a strong team-oriented culture was a significant factor in joining the company.
Schubert was also drawn to W.E. O’Neil’s approach to growth and its position in the market. “It’s evident that W.E. O’Neil knows how to grow while staying true to the culture and values that have made it successful,” said Schubert. “From the people I’ve met and the direction the company is heading, I am excited to contribute my strengths and experience to support growth at an organization with the capability and resolve to execute bold plans. I look forward to helping ensure an enduring, stable, and profitable legacy and, most importantly, to create opportunities for our team and success for our clients in the process.”
Schubert earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm School of Law and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics from Fordham University.
