Chicago’s Whitney Architects announces leadership transition

Chicago’s Whitney Architects announced a leadership transition as part of the firm’s long-term growth strategy.

Founder Mark Stenftenagel will transition to Chairman of the Board after more than four decades leading the Chicago-based architecture and interior design firm. Rick Joutras has been named Chief Executive Officer, and Melissa Bogusch will continue as President.

Stenftenagel will remain actively involved through 2026. Whitney specializes in workplace, hospitality, life science and experiential environments for clients nationwide, with a focus on aligning business goals, culture, and performance through strategic design.
