Christine Akins has been appointed senior managing director of multifamily for CBRE‘s Capital Markets practice.
Based in Chicago, Akins will carry over more than 20 years of experience as she leads the firm’s multifamily investment sales practice in the Americas.
CBRE Capital Markets already leads the industry in investment sales activity—in the U.S. and globally. Its multifamily service offering in the U.S. has consistently been ranked number one, with $24.7 billion in apartment sales completed in 2015, for an industry-leading market share of 17.7%, according to Real Capital Analytics.*
Akins was previously managing director at LaSalle Investment Management, where she was responsible for sourcing, underwriting, structuring and closing multifamily acquisitions, totaling over $3 billion of assets throughout the U.S. including core, value-add and development opportunities.
Akins is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago and is an active participant in several industry organizations including the Urban Land Institute and the National Multifamily Housing Council.
