Last year, Midwest Real Estate News ran its first Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame special section. In this section, we profiled the top veterans of the industry. since then, we’ve been running these profiles each week on our Web site. Here is a look at Chuck Ruhl with NAI Ruhl & Ruhl Commercial Company in Davenport, Iowa.
Chuck Ruhl Position: President and Chief Executive Officer Company: NAI Ruhl & Ruhl Commercial Company Location: Davenport, Iowa
Chuck Ruhl has followed one principle throughout his long commercial real estate career: He and all the brokers that work for Davenport, Iowa’s NAI Ruhl & Ruhl Commercial Company must always keep their clients’ needs at the top of their to-do lists.
It’s a simple philosophy, but an effective one, too. Ruhl has long believed that success in commercial real estate only comes when brokers do everything they can to provide top service to their customers. This, after all, leads to referrals. And referrals remain the lifeblood of any thriving commercial real estate brokerage.
That holds true today more than ever. When an industry is struggling, only those companies with a proven history of providing top service will survive.
So far, NAI Ruhl & Ruhl is one of those firms. And this is due in large part to Ruhl’s efforts.
In the last three years, Ruhl has developed more than $100 million of commercial, industrial and residential properties. He’s also completed more than 200,000 square feet of industrial transactions, more than 1 million square feet of office leases and more than $500 million of investment transactions.
In other words, Ruhl has had a big impact on the commercial real estate business.
“Chuck Ruhl is easily one of the most committed and professional commercial real estate veterans that I’ve ever met,” said one nominator. “He does anything he can to keep his clients happy. He does whatever he can to close deals for his clients.”
Ruhl has been doing this for a long time now. He first entered the real estate industry back in 1973. He joined the Ruhl & Ruhl team just three years later.
Since then, he’s steadily risen through the ranks at the company. His stellar record of transactions and development activity certainly paved the way for his advancement through the firm.
But Ruhl makes this list not only because of his dedication to customer service and his impact on the Midwest commercial scene, but also because of his commitment to both his industry and his community.
Ruhl is a busy member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, the Iowa CCIM chapter and the Iowa Association of Business & Industry.
He’s also found the time to serve on the boards of the Quad City Bank, DavenportOne, Quad City Development Group and Genesis Medical Center.
